Authorities in Manchester, New Hampshire, are seeking the public's assistance following the discovery of a newborn girl's body in a pond at Pine Island Park. The body was found on Thursday, March 27, around 4 p.m. Police believe the baby was placed in the water sometime between Tuesday, March 25, and Thursday, March 27.
Manchester Police Chief Peter Marr stated that the case is being treated as a "suspicious death investigation." An autopsy conducted on March 28 revealed certain information about the newborn, but details are not being disclosed at this time. The police have received around 50 tips since the case was announced, but are still urging anyone with information to come forward.
Chief Marr has specifically requested information about anyone who was pregnant during the relevant time frame but is no longer pregnant and does not have a newborn with them. He also asked for any photos or videos taken at Pine Island Pond during the specified period.
A $2,500 reward is being offered for information that could aid the investigation. Chief Marr addressed the mother directly, encouraging her to come forward, saying, "At the end of the day, you know, if she needs help, we need to be able to provide that help for her, and we're also trying to seek justice for this baby."
