Kamala Harris Dodges When Asked If She Supporters Packing SCOTUS

Harris has been very clear in the past that she supports Democrats expanding the Supreme Court and then packing it with liberal justices.

However, as Washington Post’s Marc Thiessen points out that Biden-Harris are now refusing to answer the question on court packing because if they say they oppose it, then it “will dispirit” their base. If they says yes, then it will “drive reluctant Trump voters for whom the Supreme Court is a deciding issue into Trump’s arms once again”.

So yesterday, Kamala Harris was on MSNBC with Lawrence O’Donnell when she was asked about court packing and she proved why the campaign has kept her hidden from the media.

She stumbled and bumbled before filibustering to avoid answering the question. Just a textbook dodge.

She said:

“You know, let's – I think that, first of all, Joe's been very clear that, um, he's going to, to, to pay attention to the fact, and I'm with him on this 1000 percent. Pay attention to the fact, right now, Lawrence, people are voting. They're voting. This is not, some can debate about, an election year, should a sitting president be allowed or able to nominate someone to the United States Supreme Court for a lifetime appointment. This is not even an election year. This is like, we’re actually in the election. People started voting. People have been voting. Almost a million Americans have voted. People will be voting next week. People will be voting up until Election Day, and they have a right, in an election, to elect their next president, who then will make the decision about who will be the nominee.”
